ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Nick has been teaching since 2010 when he joined the Teach First Graduate programme after completing his Mathematics degree at Bristol University. This website and blog is about helping him to refine his reflections around maths pedagogy and leadership. After spending the last four years as a Lead Practitioner at Harris Academy Battersea Nick will be working as the Head of Mathematics at Haggerston School from September 2020. This has led Nick towards being more considered with his beliefs around great maths teaching and it’s communication in the teaching community. He hopes that by writing down his reflections and what he has learned over the last decade of teaching in schools that are in deprived areas the reader will also be able to make a marked difference to their teaching and the opportunities for their pupils.
